The Kyle's Dairy Farm, Kylecrest Holsteins, was recently featured on Discover Wisconsin. The episode features Wisconsin dairy families whose work extends beyond their dairy farms to include their other passions; in Laurie's case that happens to be her coffee shop.
Here at Perkup, our goal is to provide you with an exceptional sensory experience. Laurie Kyle, licensed nutritionist, coffee lover, and dairy owner had a dream; she wanted to create a comfortable spot where people would gather and new friendships could be made. Perkup opened in March of 2012 and Laurie's love for great coffee and conversation has resulted in brighter mornings for countless people.

Not only does Laurie run Perkup, she is also an active
mother of three who helps on her family's farm. After
spending 24 years working in the Elkhorn Area School
District, she decided to retire in 2013 in order to devote
more of her time to her passion --- coffee. She loves
owning and managing her own business as well as being
a dairy spokesperson. In fact, she was just interviewed by
Mark Tauscher on Sunday Sip to celebrate National Dairy
Month. Listen in to hear about how dairy plays a role in
the local economy, which happens to include Perkup!

Laurie and her husband, Dave, own a first-generation dairy farm on the outskirts of Elkhorn and operate it with help from two of their children, Hayden and Mackenzie.
Hayden attended the U.W. Wisconsin-Madison Dairy and Farm Industry Short Course and graduated in 2014. He decided to make farming his career and joined his parents full-time in managing the dairy after graduation. His first big decision was to add Jerseys to the herd in the Spring of 2014.
Mackenzie graduated from the University of Dubuque with a degree in Sports Management & Marketing and Business Administration in 2019. She is currently employed with Walworth County, helps on the farm when she can, and is
looking forward to her wedding in Fall of 2021.
